New programs aim to attract and develop future female leaders.
International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. Although we have come a long way in gender equity, there is still ample work to be done to further encourage gender diversity.
Gibson is committed to fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace through the recruitment, retention and advancement of women in our workforce and in leadership positions. As well we are committed to educating our workforce on the benefits of creating a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Gibson has also initiated and implemented annual Women in Operations & Engineering and Women in Finance Development Programs to attract and develop future female leaders graduating from post-secondary schools. Through these programs, talented and driven individuals from universities across Canada were given the opportunity to learn and explore the various facets of these functions within our organization and to interact with Gibson’s Board of Directors and leadership teams directly.
In order to continue our progress in supporting a diverse workplace, we are excited to announce our commitment to donate $20,000 in scholarships for female students in 2020. The Gibson Energy Women in Operations & Engineering and Women in Finance scholarship programs will support female students at post-secondary schools where Gibson lives and operates.
