Gibson Energy COVID-19 Update 2

Throughout the continued evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gibson Energy has remained proactive and prudent in our planning, response and actions regarding this risk. Our Pandemic Response Team continues to manage our response, both internally and externally, with regular briefings to our executive team and Board of Directors. The response team continues to assess potential scenarios, develop and implement any necessary contingencies and plans to ensure the safety of our people and the continuity of our business.

Our planning & response priorities continue to be:

  2. Continuity of our Operations
  3. Frequent Communications and Transparency

Health & Safety

Building on our previous working restrictions and guidelines, and aligning with health authorities and government recommendations, we have done the following:

  • Mandated that all employees who are able, to work remotely.
  • Eliminated any non-essential business travel, including travel to and from our worksites.
  • Expanded our teleconference and virtual meeting technologies to enable our workforce to better collaborate with each other and with external stakeholders.
  • Implemented “business minimum” staffing levels at facilities, which are limited to: identified leadership roles; field operations; and required maintenance personnel.
  • Required all field-based employees and contractors to complete a COVID-19 questionnaire prior to commencing their next scheduled shift.
  • Required any contractors to ensure that all their employees, subcontractors and suppliers entering one of our facilities complete a similar questionnaire. These questionnaires must be re-completed frequently. Any individual answering in the affirmative to any of the questions will not be allowed entry to any of our facilities.
  • Increased internal communication to promote heightened vigilance regarding social distancing, hygiene and cleaning protocols.
  • Implemented the following travel and self-isolation requirements:
    • An individual, or those with a member of their household, that has travelled outside their country of residence will be required to self-isolate for 14 days; and
    • Individuals, or those with a household member that are experiencing any symptoms of illness (particularly those common to COVID-19, including coughing, respiratory distress or fever), have been barred from our facilities and will not be allowed to return to a worksite until they have been determined to be healthy by a healthcare professional.

Continuity of Operations

  • Our Business Continuity Plans for our operations and critical corporate functions that were previously enacted and implemented are continually being reviewed and reworked as necessary to ensure the continued delivery of critical services and operations.
  • Our IT Department continues to work diligently’ ensuring the sustained capacity for our people to work remotely for as long as required.

Frequent Communications and Transparency

  • Our Pandemic Response Team and executives have ensured that our workforce is provided frequent and timely updates on COVID-19 and any new information is incorporated into our continuity plans.
  • We are regularly communicating with regulators, customers and contractors to ensure that we are working together and coordinating our response efforts.
  • As previously stated, we have taken the necessary steps to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders, and we will continue to do so with the same commitment we have always had.
