Developing future operations & engineering leaders through experience, exposure and opportunity.

Objective

The goal of the Gibson Energy Women in Operations & Engineering Development Program is to attract and develop future female leaders by providing exposure to career opportunities in operations and engineering functions.

Overview

Successful candidates will be participating in a two (2)-day informational session hosted by our senior leaders in Operations and Engineering.  Students will learn and explore the various facets of our operations and engineering functions and will have the opportunity to network with our senior leadership and/or Board of Directors.

Up to five post-secondary students will be selected. This program is an extension of our Summer Student and Co-Op Term recruitment programs, and therefore, suitable student candidate(s) may be selected to move forward with initial interviews at the end of the two-day session.

Day 1 (Friday, February 21, 2020)

  • Introduction to Gibson Energy
  • Introduction to the roles of the Senior VP, Operations & Engineering, VP Project Development and Engineering, and VP, Operations and Operations Services
  • Information session on operations and operations services
  • Information session on project development and project execution
  • Information session on Gibson Energy Project Management Process
  • Wrap-Up – Student Presentation Outline

Day 2 (Monday, February 24, 2020)

  • Student Presentations
  • Information session on Operations Management System (OMS)
  • Debrief with leadership and discussion about summer opportunities
  • Networking opportunity with senior leadership and / or Board of Directors

Program Timing

January 24, 2020: Deadline for applications
January 31, 2020: Notify successful participants of acceptance into the program
February 21, 2020: Day 1 of program
February 24, 2020: Day 2 of program

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in and completed 1-2 years of an undergraduate degree, preferably with a focus on Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Instrumentation disciplines
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Desire to learn and develop knowledge of a public company
